Today it seems like there is a subscription for everything.
Whether it’s beauty items or boxes full of healthy meals, our money is getting taken left and right. But, it doesn’t have to be that way! I’m here to help you guys out.
I have had many subscriptions, but have found only some are worth keeping. Below is my guide to what subscriptions to keep and which ones to get rid of.
Ipsy

I had an Ipsy subscription for about a year.
If you aren’t familiar with Ipsy i’ll explain it for you now. It’s a cute trail sized bag that comes with trial sized samples of make up, perfume, nail polish, hair products, skin care and make up brushes. These samples come from well known brands such as SOMA, Morphe.
However, no matter what the brand was I found that all the products I would receive were top notch. You can also specify what you want in a bag. I think I chose make up/make up brushes, skin care products and nail polish. The bags I received helped me build my collection of beauty products a ton! Also, get this… IT’S JUST $10 A MONTH!
Yay or Nay?
This subscription is definitely worth it to me. Even as a woman of color I found a lot of the products did work for my beauty needs. (that says a lot!) So, girls get your Ipsy subscription so you can get in on this greatness.
Savage X Fenty VIP Club

We all know bras can get expensive and a lot of times they are uncomfortable.
Rihanna has changed that with her line of bras. Savage X Fenty’s VIP Club is for those who want to purchase new bras regularly without having to spend new bra money every time. That’s what initially attracted me to this. Along with the recommendation of a friend. Now, if you join the club it is a $50 fee each month IF you don’t make a purchase during that month.
If you make a purchase online that month then the $50 is waived. But, if you don’t purchase you will be charged the $50. Overall, your membership will get you two bras and 25% off all items. I thought that was a pretty good deal, considering you can even put your membership on hold for a given month if you decide you don’t want to make a purchase that month.
Yay or Nay?
Even though there’s some great perks with this membership…I cancelled it. It just didn’t work for me. I have a very weird bra size, which I found out after getting a custom fitting, which i’d HIGHLY recommend ladies. The bras on this site ran small to me, but it could just be because i’m a special case.
Gas Buddy

Not sure if this is new, but its new to me! Gas Buddy is an app that tells you where you can get gas for the best price. It truly is a life saver.
They also have a card that essentially is a gas card. I recently (today will be the first time I use it) got one and I am excited to try it out. Supposedly, if you pay with the card you can earn points and those points turn into MONEY. After a while you will earn yourself a free tank of gas! Also, you can shop on the Gas Buddy app for things like clothes, travel, home items, etc. Shopping on the app will also earn you rewards points towards free gas.
Yay or Nay?
I think this is worth it so far. I will update this of course if my answer changes. Lets try it out together guys. After all, its free!
Chase Freedom Rewards Credit Card

This is my first credit card and I will say it’s been a fun one to use.
Since the beginning this card has been a life saver. It’s allowed me to build my credit, while also earning tons of money back! This card features 5% cash back items within 3 month intervals. Right now I think the special is on grocery stores, gas and food places. But, on every purchase regardless of what it is you will earn points back!
I have actually earned a good amount of money with this card, even though I feel like the points add up too slow. That could just be me being impatient though! I know that you can also shop directly through the Chase Freedom section of the Chase app and earn some nice deals. I haven’t done that yet, but i’m sure its a great experience!
Yay or Nay
I would get this card if you are looking to build your credit. It’s easy to get approved and there are a lot of rewards that come with it.
