Loving The Life I Live

Hi friends, I know I’ve been gone for a while, and for that, I apologize! I’ve been so busy with many different things that I want to tell you all about. This post will be a little different than the ones I’ve done in the past because I’ll be focusing on life updates, so I hope you stick around! Let’s get started.

I’m a Feyoncé

On December 4, 2021, my best friend asked me to marry him. This was the first time anyone had left me completely speechless. Even though I had a feeling it was going to happen soon, I was too stunned to speak! But…I of course said YES! My fiancé  Peter and I have been together for six years now and each year has been so sweet. I’ve never had so much fun with someone. We literally have the best time doing nothing together and I love it. I’m so excited to spend forever with the love of my life!

We’ve been in a constant state of celebration and planning since December 4th since we’ve decided to get married this year! I know, it’s quick, but this is what we want to do, so planning has been in full swing. That’s part of the reason I’ve been MIA. Between planning the ceremony and reception details to organizing our outfits for photoshoots and the wedding itself, I’ve been busy. A good busy though! Stress hasn’t set in yet, mainly because Peter and I have so much support from family and friends, so I’m really thankful for that.

I’m so excited to see what else this year holds, especially as we continue to plan the wedding, and don’t worry, I’ll keep you guys updated as the year goes on. Be on the lookout for wedding planning content, tips and tricks, and cute DIYs.

Life update with a new job

My next big life update probably isn’t a surprise. Anyone that knows me understands how much I LOVE to write. In January, I made a big step in my career and decided it was time to begin writing full time, especially since I’ve been Freelance Writing these past few years. After a few interviews with a couple companies, I was offered my next dream job.

I am so thankful that God blessed me with this opportunity and every time I think about it I’m in awe! Not only is my job title exactly what I wanted, but the salary is higher than I asked for, there are opportunities for development, the perks are AMAZING, and it’s fully remote. It really is everything I wanted and more. And to think, all it took for me to get here was to step out in faith. I could have limited myself to just freelancing and not taken the step to full time, but then I’d be resting in my comfort zone.

I can’t wait to see where this takes me! Follow me on LinkedIn to keep up with my career updates.

Learning Selfcare

If you know me, you know that I always have something going on. I’m not the type to relax when I have free time, instead, I’ll start a new project, work on freelancing, work out, write a new blog post for CamilleLove, etc. Basically whatever I can do to fill my schedule.

I don’t know how I got like this, but it’s me, and I’m working on it. Lately, I have come to understand that my body does not have to earn rest or downtime and it’s okay to have absolutely nothing to do sometimes! It’s not something to be ashamed of, it’s life. This realization has brought about clarity as it relates to activities I genuinely enjoy. To get there I asked myself, “What does Lauren like to do when there’s nothing to do?”, and here’s what I came up with!

  • I like to read fiction books
  • Coloring in adult coloring books is fun
  • Meditating is something I enjoy
  • I really enjoy making tea and learning about different types of teas
  • I love going on walks

If my situation sounds like yours I encourage you to examine your life and find the small nuggets of things that give you joy in a day and do them more often. Self-care is in the little things!

I hope you all enjoyed my mini-life update! As I continue to go through life changes this year I’ll be sure to bring you guys along for the ride.
